About Performance Pet Foods

Performance Pet Foods was formed from a group of like-minded people who love their pets and were looking for the best possible options for their health when it comes to diet. You can boost your pet’s health profoundly by making one simple decision, which is changing their diet from commercial brand fare to real food. Basically, food fit for human consumption is far better for your pet.

Generations of pets lived into their late teens on fresh food before pet food corporations changed (ruined) everything. Pets have been domesticated for over 15,000 years and up until the 1930’s they were NEVER fed kibble or canned foods from a store. Their diet was real meat the same as Performance Pet Foods sells - free of any additives or preservatives. This changed in the 1930’s when cereal and grain manufacturers looked for something profitable to do with their rejected cereals and grain. The meat industry faced the same dilemma with spoiled or diseased meat and the idea of mixing the rejects together and calling it Pet Food was born.

Marketing firms spent an enormous amount of money planting this idea in the public’s mind and today commercial diets are promoted by a multi billion dollar pet food corporation collaborating with the veterinary industry, both of which have a huge financial stake in getting you to use these products. But, processed kibble and canned products were not then - nor are they now - pet food. Real pet food was and always will be real food.

“When fresh fed pets are compared to those fed on premium pellet diet, fresh fed pets were found to be significantly healthier, immunologically speaking.” ANTECH 2003.

Commercial pet food has been linked to cancer, kidney failure, cystitis, dilated cardiomyopathy and many other illnesses. Fresh over processed is recommended, anyday. Most commercial pet foods contain certain sulphur dioxide, sodium and potassium sulphile preservatives. This can cause thiamine deficiency, which can be fatal. Thiamine deficiency causes severe neurological symptoms.

We love our pets and so do you, so to avoid these problems Performance Pet Foods guarantees to deliver 100% fresh, preservative free meats, allowing our pets to enjoy a long, happy, healthy life.
